The Local Art Prize is a chance for artists residing within 100km of Stanthorpe to win a share of $5000 in prizes. Entries to be delivered on Monday 27 November between 8 am - 10 am. One entry is allowed per person. Size limits apply.

The annual Crisps Youth Art Prize exhibition will be held from 13 September to 8 October 2023 (ending 1 week early due to the referendum voting using the Civic Centre). The theme for this year is Caring for Nature: Granite Belt Biodiversity & Endangered Species.
In 2022 our paddock was inundated with floodwater three times. After each flood the fences have to be fixed, dams cleared out. The lay of the land changes each time as silt or sand is dumped and new waterways appear. I have used this as my muse for this exhibition.
Open Roads, Closed Borders, is an exhibition that rejoices in travelling our country’s roads, exploring its vastness and diversity, while in a time of lockdowns and restrictions.
In Many Feathers, Debbie Dieckmann offers insights into the quirks and habits of birds in her local habitat. Her work delves into the many different species of birds that inhabit "her world," capturing their feathers, nests, and relationships with whimsy and detail. Her paintings are complemented by mixed-media wearable art pieces that are inspired by birds.
In this exhibition, Davson’s spiritual and environmental paintings embrace co-creation with others.
For more than half a century Stanthorpe Pottery Club has played an important role in the Arts of this region. Always welcoming new members who look for friendship and the therapeutic effects of working with clay. Reflections will feature a diverse and interesting display from their talented new and regular exhibitors.
For this exhibition, no restraints were placed on the artists and the works presented. The exhibition title encompasses diversity and differing responses in art making practices.

Art has been a part of Anne’s life for many years both in her learning and teaching in pottery, etching printing, and painting.
In partnership with the Zonta Club of Stanthorpe. As part of Stanthorpe’s 150yrs celebration, the Zonta Club of Stanthorpe are working on a project “Remarkable Women” to acknowledge and highlight the contribution of women in building our community. This exhibition highlights remarkable women artists of Stanthorpe.
“Remarkable Women of The Granite Belt” preserves the history and acknowledges the contribution of women in the formation of our community, in a permanent memorial, as part of Stanthorpe 150 years celebration.

As long as people have lived in the Granite Belt, they have looked for ways to depict the world around them. The region’s Indigenous people used art and songs to tell creation stories, guide their way across their country and record their history. Art is prolific in our place. Long before and in the last 150 years there has been many forms of art: music, dance, photography, painting and more. This exhibition charts our art history through time. View the online exhibition.
The Local Art Prize is a biennial exhibition that displays the depth and breadth of artists across our region. We welcome entries from any artist who resides within the Southern Downs or within a 100km radius from Stanthorpe.
After 20 years and four personal exhibitions, Joe decided to create an exhibition that encapsulates his Art over time. He found it fascinating to reflect on his focus over the years and how his career as an artist had morphed into quite different art representations. This exhibition begins with Botanical Studies, followed by Plausible Perspectives, then finishing with Abstract Contemplations and a series of small sculptures.
The concept of sharing information between people and tribes is represented in ‘many fish’ through the idea that fish travel through our rivers and ocean, sometimes travelling great distances. Many aboriginal tribes are reliant on river systems and the ocean for survival and therefore have a sense of connectedness to water and the opportunities it provides.

The world has changed in unimaginable, unpredictable ways in the last two years. Students have responded in a variety of ways to the themes of growth and change, expressing internal and external reactions to the challenges of their world.
Contemporary art photography is about much more than bagging the beautiful shot. Stanthorpe Photography Awards 2021 wants to hear from photographers who explore the edges of their practice, their creativity, their technique. Any Australian photographer can enter for a chance to claim the $5,000 first prize. Two commendation awards, of $750 each, can also be won.

In her 40th solo exhibition, prize winning Australian artist Christine Porter shares with us her passion for the Australian shearing shed. This exhibition is about the historic shed at “Nundubbermere” near Stanthorpe - watercolour paintings describing the bold architecture of its construction and the beauty of its interior light.
Many quilters have used the harrowing events of the past 18 months as inspiration to stimulate their imaginations and talents. The results are reflective and show a strong hope for better times in the future. The show will be on the road from June to November, traveling through NSW and Queensland.
All of creation has a purpose and a mission to accomplish that: human life shares those experiences. From birth till death our Pathways traverse time and space both personally and communally. Interactions or perception and emotion drive happenstance and ubiquity.
