New exhibition opens today
From vibrant paintings to intricate ceramics and exquisite textiles, the newly refurbished Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery offers a rich tapestry of artistic styles and mediums.
Canvas, Cloth & Clay brings together the diverse works of four talented artists—Naomi Grant, Krishna Heffernan, Renai Mouton, Maria de Vries, and Arora de Vries—alongside the Stanthorpe Pottery Club. Also exhibiting is Uncrated, a selection of works from the Stanthorpe Art Gallery Collection that have recently returned from storage.
Public Choice Award
The Public Choice Award for the 2024 Stanthorpe Art Prize was determined by visitors to the exhibition and announced on Monday 18th November.
Congratulations to Scott McDougall for winning this award with his work Winter's last light, Tenterfield NSW.

Join us for a captivating evening of art, music, and celebration as we unveil the winners of the 2024 Stanthorpe Art Prize.
Hear from our judges, Jessica Bridgfoot, Director, Bendigo Art Gallery and Michael Brennan, Gallery Director at Noosa Regional Gallery, along with special guest Philip Bacon AO, of Philip Bacon Galleries.
Gallery return
On Friday 26 August, the newly refurbished Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery opened its doors to 300 folks with the opening of A Collection of Seasons exhibition. This exhibition featured sixty works from the valuable and eclectic Stanthorpe Art Gallery Collection.

Crisps Youth Art Prize Winners Announced
Crisps Youth Art Prize is now showing at the Stanthorpe Civic Centre, until Sunday 7 July. Check out who won.
Over 800 entries were received from school students from the Granite Belt region. The theme this year was "Futurescape - Hopeful Visions" where we invited exploration of what the future might look like.

THE CASTLE OF TARRAGINDI TOURS TO STANTHORPE
Children and families can take part in a range of fun art-making activities by contemporary Australian artist Natalya Hughes when ‘The Castle of Tarragindi on Tour’ comes to the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery on 16 & 18 January.

Dan McArthur receives SES award
As part of SES Week 2023, Dan McArthur, our Gallery business manager, who is also Group Leader of the Stanthorpe SES group, received an award at the Regional SES Awards held in Toowoomba on 9 September. The award was for special contribution to the SES through dedication and leadership.
Caring for Nature Expo
The Caring for Nature project was officially launched on Sunday 6 March 2023, and the expo was held on Monday 7 & Tuesday 8 August.
The expo was attended by over 700 students from all primary schools in the district. Each child received a Boomerang Bag made of recycled fabric as a show bag, with resources from the presenters included.
The Late Shift Big Band is coming back to Stanthorpe!
After a hugely successful concert in 2022, the Late Shift Big Band is coming back to Stanthorpe for an entertaining night of swing, jazz and rock music to have you dancing the night away.
